What I Do
Ground & Commercial Advisory helps groundworks and civil engineering contractors understand what a Site Investigation report means before it costs them money on site.
An SI report can run to hundreds of pages. What it rarely tells you clearly is:
Can the material be reused?
What needs to leave site — and where can it go?
Is the formation likely to hold?
What should be priced as risk?
What should be qualified before you sign the contract?
That gap between what the report says and what it means commercially is where contractors get caught out.
Who I Am
I am Bert Hope. I have spent 25 years managing procurement, earthworks and commercial delivery on major civil engineering projects in Scotland and the UK.
Ground & Commercial Advisory is based in Scotland and works with contractors across the UK. This is direct, practical, fixed-fee advisory — not a large consultancy.
What It Costs
Most reviews are fixed fee — £3,500 for a standard pre-contract Decision Pack. Smaller, straightforward jobs from £2,500. Complex disposal or SEPA matters may carry an additional charge.
No open-ended billing. Scope and fee agreed upfront.
If you have an SI report and you are unsure what it means for your price or your risk — get in touch.
